How it works
- Unroll the snail shell
Open the toy out from its snail shape into a long fleece strip (approx. 72 × 7.5 cm when unrolled), revealing multiple folds and pockets along the length. - Hide the kibble and treats
Sprinkle dry kibble or small dry treats into the spaces between the fleece layers, tucking some pieces deeper into the folds to make the game more of a challenge. - Roll it back up (optional)
Roll the strip back into its snail shape (approx. 14 × 7.5 × 22 cm) so your dog has to both unroll and snuffle through the layers to find every last piece. - Let your dog sniff and search
Place the snail on the floor and encourage your dog to explore. They’ll use their nose, tongue and gentle pawing to unroll the snail, work along the fleece strip and uncover the hidden food, with three built-in squeakers adding extra fun and interest.
Features & benefits
- Adorable snail snuffle design – Rolls up into a cute snail, then unrolls into a long fleece strip with plenty of hiding spots for kibble and treats.
- Two ways to play – Use it unrolled as a simple snuffle strip or rolled up for a slightly trickier foraging challenge.
- Snuffle-style treat pockets – Made from soft fleece with multiple spaces along the length to hide dry food, encouraging nose-led searching instead of fast gulping.
- Built-in squeakers – Includes three squeakers to keep toy-motivated dogs engaged and make the toy fun even when it’s not loaded with food.
- Great size for enrichment – Approx. 14 × 7.5 × 22 cm when rolled as a snail and 72 × 7.5 cm when unrolled, suitable for most small to large dogs.
- Supports slower eating – Can be used with part of your dog’s regular dry kibble to help slow down mealtimes and make food more mentally rewarding.
- Soft fleece construction – Gentle on noses and paws, ideal for sniffing, nudging and unrolling rather than heavy chewing.
- Portable & easy to store – Rolls back into a compact snail shape that’s simple to pop away between sessions or take with you when travelling.
Enrichment ideas
- Use part of your dog’s daily kibble allowance in the Snuffle Snail instead of feeding from a normal bowl to naturally slow their eating.
- Hide most of the food along the unrolled strip, then tuck a few extra-tasty treats deep in the folds as bonus “jackpots”.
- Start with the snail unrolled and food visible for beginners, then work up to fully rolling it for dogs who enjoy more of a challenge.
- Pair the snail with a lick mat or puzzle feeder in the same session for a longer enrichment routine on rainy or busy days.
- Offer it as a calm nosework activity after a walk or play session to help your dog wind down.
Safety & care
This is an interactive enrichment and play toy, not a chew toy. Always supervise your dog while they’re using the Snuffle Snail Soft Dog Toy and remove it if they start to chew aggressively, rip at the fleece or damage any parts. Use only dry kibble or dry treats in the toy, and choose a difficulty level that suits your dog’s experience. After use, shake out any leftover food, spot clean or gently hand wash or machine was as needed, and allow the toy to dry completely before offering it again.
Dog Games Australia is a tiny Brisbane-based operation: just me, Sal, and my two Chief Toy Testers, Atlas and Ares. I personally choose each toy for its safety, durability and enrichment value, so you can feel good about adding more sniffing, problem-solving and calm, focused fun to your dog’s day.
