Firstly, congrats on your new puppy! So exciting! I sometimes miss when my German Shepherds were little. So cute! Atlas had the floppiest ears. Ares I got when he was approx. 7 months (rescue life). Anyway, puppy toys & puzzles!
It’s important that you choose toys that don’t have small or loose parts that are a choking hazard. All the puzzles and toys below should work perfectly – however, I always recommend supervising. and no toy is indestructible!
When teaching a puppy to use a new puzzle or toy, always make it fun and use it as a training opportunity! Use your sits, and stays before letting them play and learn.
Choosing Puppy Dog Puzzles
If you are new to Dog Puzzles, I suggest you start with a level 1, The Puppy Smart is a great option or Dog Smart is a fantastic beginner puzzle.
Once your dog has mastered the basics (or they are already a massive smarty pants) you can move up to a level 2. The Hide n’ Slide Puppy or Dog version is a great option. So is the Tornado Puppy or Dog Version.
These can also used as a slow feeder or frozen with treats or dinner in it!
Choosing Puppy Toys
If you are looking for something for them to chase and interact with the A-Maze Ball, Treat Tumble Ball or Mazee Slow Feeder Puzzle Ball are great options.
If you’re looking for something very durable, I’d recommend the Wobble Bowl or A-Maze Ball
