How it works
1. Set up the Smarty board
Clip the included Zoey, Maya, Nai, Kaya and Louvre pawzles into the Pawzler base into your chosen layout.
2. Hide food in different mechanisms
Load kibble or treats into the various compartments: under lids, inside sliding sections and in drawers. You can also add a little soft food or peanut butter in some spots to encourage more sniffing.
3. Encourage your dog to explore
Your dog needs to push sliders, lift lids, open drawers and work levers with their nose, tongue or paws to release the rewards. The Level 2 difficulty gives a satisfying challenge without being too overwhelming.
4. Fine-tune the challenge
Turning the yellow and turquoise pawzles in different directions changes how they open, so you can make things easier or harder as your dog’s skills progress.

– Rotate which pawzles you include each day so the Smarty Set always feels fresh and unpredictable.
– Mix your dog’s usual kibble with a few smelly “bonus” treats in the trickiest pawzles to keep them motivated.
– Combine the Smarty base with bases from other Pawzler sets to build a super-puzzle for high-energy or very clever dogs.
– Use during quiet time while you work from home so your dog has a job to do that doesn’t involve following you around.
– Pair with easier Level 1 pawzles in a separate session if your dog needs a confidence boost after tackling the harder pieces.
Safety & care
The Smarty Set is an interactive enrichment toy, not a chew toy. Supervise your dog, and remove the puzzle if they start chewing at pieces or become frustrated. Offer help if needed and keep sessions fun and positive. Check all parts regularly for damage and retire any broken pieces. Wash in warm, soapy water (or in the dishwasher) and allow everything to dry completely before reassembling.
