How do the Dog Snuffle N’ Treat Ball Work?

How it works

1. Fill the compartments – Load the openings around the ball with kibble, dry food or small treats.
2. Plug in the chipmunks – Push the six plush chipmunks into the holes to hide the food underneath.
3. Set the difficulty – Half in makes it easy for a first go. All the way in makes your dog work for it.
4. Let your dog get to work – They sniff out the loaded compartments, tug the chipmunks free, then roll the ball to tip out what is left.

Enrichment ideas

• Load only two of the six compartments so your dog has to nose over the whole ball to work out which ones matter
• Use it for scent training practice: your dog is doing find-the-food whether you call it that or not
• Take it outside and let the ball roll into longer grass for a harder hunt
• Save it for the hour you need to get something done, since the pulling and rolling takes a while

Safety & care

• Supervise every session. This is a food toy, not a chew toy.
• Take it away when the food is gone, or sooner if your dog starts chewing a chipmunk instead of pulling it out.
• Never leave your dog alone with it. The chipmunks come out by design, and a swallowed one is a serious problem.
• Count the chipmunks back in after every session, and check the ball and each chipmunk for damage. Retire anything torn or split.
